Areas of Focus

  • Mobile App Development

  • AI Architecture

  • Prompt Engineering

Verizon is a global telecommunications company with a mission to empower the way that people live, work and play.

With their new 5G Edge compute, it’s now possible for companies to deliver data at a speed and quality unlike ever before.

01

The Challenge

As a relatively new technology, Verizon wanted to build a prototype to showcase how their 5G Edge, combined with the latest in AI, could deliver a high speed, low latency experience at live sporting events.

Without the AI expertise available to develop this themselves, Verizon partnered with Artium to build their prototype, which needed to auto-generate high-quality, instant replays.

02

The Solution

Artium assembled a team with expertise in design, engineering, and artificial intelligence. The decision was then made to develop a mobile app for iOS, with a focus on delivering an engaging and dynamic prototype.

Over the course of three weeks, the team iteratively refined the app, working daily to develop a mobile experience that could instantly capture and highlight the most exciting moments of a game.

Utilizing OpenAI, Whisper, and prompt engineering, the app was able to accurately identify key moments, such as intense tackles, stunning goals, or notable misses. These highlights were then selected and made instantly available on the mobile app, allowing users to watch and replay them at their convenience

The Outcome

Within just 3 short weeks, Artium delivered a working version of the instant replay prototype.

Since then, Verizon has been using the prototype to showcase some of the new and creative ways that sports leagues can delight their fans and enable their teams. All made possible with their 5G Edge Compute.
