We are seeking a trusted and reliable Accountant to help maintain Artium’s books and assist with other day-to-day administration. We expect the person occupying this role to have an obsession with details, sharp quantitative skills , and a passion for numbers. At Artium we are all about the craft, and want this team member to love their job and look for ways to constantly make it better.
We love to collaborate and expect our accountant to be proactive, ask questions, and be excited to learn more. There is an opportunity to pair directly with leadership and the CEO on modeling and forecasting the data, and learning more about the business so you can assist with reporting key business metrics.
Responsibilities:
Bookkeeping and Month Close Activities:
Ensure all bookkeeping practices adhere to GAAP standards.
Weekly expense categorization
Bonus / commission accruals
Bonus / commission calculations
Invoice and revenue journal entries / deferrals
Depreciation schedules
Handle the preparation of financial reports (P&L, BS) for the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes. Be able to speak to the line items
Budget to actuals
Code transactions in Ramp and sync with QBO (covered above)
Complete rent payments + verify sublease income
Are you comfortable managing lease and building requirements as needed?
Updating the Balance Sheet
Review incoming contractor invoices with time sheets for discrepancies in customer billing
Payroll
Own the semi-monthly payroll processing in TriNet, including assisting with time card collection for PTO balances
Own the semi-monthly 401k deferral process in John Hancock
Invoicing
Manage the biweekly invoicing process
Keep schedule of customer invoice schedule and payment terms
Track timely receipt of payments
Engage with customer Accounts Payable teams
Accounts Receivable
Send weekly report to leadership team with collections schedule
Include in cash flow report
Accounts Payable
Maintain relationship with vendors to manage payments
Collect W9s
Include in cash flow report
Manage bill pay system in Ramp
SBA loan payments
Other responsibilities:
Collaborate with Artium’s CPA on annual + quarterly tax requirements at local / state / federal level
Issue 1099s to all contractors
Monitor bank balances and transfer funds as required
Communication and Collaboration:
Act with discretion and privacy of sensitive company and confidential employee information
Work collaboratively with various stakeholders to develop and implement efficient financial collection strategies.
Maintain open lines of communication with team members across departments to ensure a cohesive working environment.

Skills and experience our team needs:
Minimum of 2-5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a senior or lead role
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification preferred
Comprehensive understanding of GAAP and experience ensuring compliance
Technical proficiency and experience with widely-used financial software tools (we use QuickBooks, Clockify, TriNet, G Suite)
Advanced knowledge of Google Sheets – we operate exclusively in the cloud
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels
A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn and grow within the company
